With the holiday season upon us, visions of toys under the Christmas tree are rapidly becoming a reality for many. For some, though, this dream is distant. The Salvation Army and Target collaborated on December 11 to give a Christmas to children who may not otherwise have it this year.
55 children were given $100 gift cards to be spent at the Target in Brentwood Square. Accompanied by volunteers from Enterprise, US Bank, Boeing, and Bank of America, the children were encouraged to buy toys and clothes for themselves. St. Louis Rams player, Rodney McLeod, was also in attendance at the event, shopping alongside the kids as they picked up the latest games, toys, and fashions. All children who participated in the shopping spree have been involved with social service programs provided by The Salvation Army over the past year. The children were given free slushies and popcorn from Target following the event.
