The Salvation Army Midland Division Continues Practical & Spiritual Support in Ferguson.

(St. Louis, MO, August 22, 2014) — The Salvation Army – Midland Division is continuing its practical and spiritual support in Ferguson, Missouri, where there has been public unrest following the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a local police officer.

As a member of a multi-agency task force, The Salvation Army is providing pastoral care, hot meals, personal care products, case management and utility assistance. Over the last few days, The Salvation Army has provided 117 households with $34,459.33 in utility assistance, and served 710 hot meals, 1,134 drinks and 1,639 healthful snacks to area residents.

Major Lonneal Richardson, Commander of The Salvation Army’s Midland Division and his staff will continue to participate with other community leaders in working together for the good of the people of Ferguson.
