The Salvation Army Hosts Christmas Shopping Spree for Children

The Salvation Army Midland Division and Echelon, the young professionals group of The Salvation Army will host a Christmas shopping spree at the Maplewood Walmart on Tuesday, December 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

100 area children will be given each a $100 Walmart gift card to shop for Christmas presents. Members of Echelon serve as chaperones during the shopping spree.

The Salvation Army Tree Lights Up Grand Center

The Salvation Army Midland Division will light a 17-foot giant Everest Fir at Strauss Park at Grand Center Wednesday, November 30 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Strauss Park is located at the corner of Washington and Grand in Midtown St. Louis. Festivities include a countdown to the tree lighting, a special performance from the Moscow Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre, and music by The Salvation Army brass ensemble. The Salvation Army bell ringers will collect donations for The Salvation Army Tree of Lights campaign. Hot cocoa will be served.
