Our Divisional Leaders

Lt. Colonels Dan and Dorene Jennings

Majors Dan & Dorene JenningsEffective late June 2016, Lt. Colonels Dan and Dorene Jennings were appointed as the new divisional commander and divisional director of women’s ministries for the Midland Division. The Jennings previously served in the same roles for The Salvation Army Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division.

“Dorene and I are truly excited about the opportunity that will be ours as we take up our new roles as the Divisional Leaders in the Midland Division. We are looking forward to working with the dedicated officers, soldiers and volunteers who make Midland great,” said Major Dan Jennings, The Salvation Army Milwaukee County Divisional Commander. “It is our prayer that God prepares us to be the people He needs us to be as we guide the division. We owe a debt of gratitude to Lt. Colonels Lonneal and Patty Richardson for their hard work and leadership which have made the division what it is today. We appreciate the prayers of those who are part of this division as we join the team and move toward the next chapter of the Midland Division.”

Back in Wisconsin, the leadership of the Jennings has impacted 1.8 million individuals through Salvation Army programs and services during their tenure.

They built and strengthened the Milwaukee County Advisory Board, expanded key community partnerships and increased social service outreach in Wisconsin & Upper Michigan.  They also mobilized young professionals and youth by founding the first Echelon and Red Kettle Club groups in the state of Wisconsin.

Finally, the Jennings initiated seven capital projects for new buildings.  In Milwaukee County, The Salvation Army Cold Spring Corps, located at 2900 W. Cold Spring Rd., was completed and opened in April 2016.

Their previous appointments include the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Quincy, Il., Kansas and Western Missouri Division, Central Territorial Headquarters in Des Plaines, Il., and the Watertown corps in South Dakota.

Lt. Colonel Dan also has a love for short-term mission and has led several mission teams, serving in Peru, Chile, and multiple trips to the Philippines.

“The mission of the Salvation Army is always greater than one person,”he shared. “We all do a part, we all play a role in serving our communities.”
