Responding to the Coronavirus: How We’re Keeping Our Neighbors Safe

The Salvation Army Midland Division remains committed to Doing The Most Good for our neighbors in need, especially now as we all respond to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

The Salvation Army is supporting your local community through the Coronavirus. Please help us serve those impacted by this global health crisis.

Donate to COVID-19 Relief Efforts

CORPS COMMUNITY CENTERS / SOCIAL SERVICE SITES

The Salvation Army Emergency Social Services offices will remain open to offer these essential services;

Food Pantries: Food will be pre-packed in bags or boxes to minimize person-to-person contact. Locations have transitioned to outdoor drive-through/pick-up or door pick-up for food boxes.

Meal Programs: Locations that offer hot meal programs have transitioned to grab and go meals in packaged containers that can be picked up at the door.

Emergency Financial Assistance: Utility and rental/mortgage assistance is by appointment only. Contact your closest Salvation Army site to discover if funds are available and to make an appointment.

Emotional and Spiritual Care: For individuals who would like Prayer or a Well Check Call.

      Missouri:

  • Arnold Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM.
  • Euclid Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Ferguson Community Empowerment Center: Emergency financial assistance is available by appointment. There is no food pantry at this site.
  • Family Haven CIP: Food PantryFood Pantry open Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 
  • Gateway Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 
  • Maplewood Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
  • O’Fallon Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM, and the second Wednesday of the month from 5:30 PM to 7:15 PM. 
  • St. Charles Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Tuesday through Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:15 PM and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM. Meal program Monday through Friday at 2:00 PM
  • Temple Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Mondays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Additional Mobile Marts Wednesdays 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Community meals served Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

     Illinois:

  • Alton Corps Community Center:  Food Pantry open Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
  • Belleville Corps Community Center: Food Pantry open Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
  • East St. Louis Community Center: Food Pantry open Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Granite City Corps Community Center:  Food Pantry open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM.

All unlisted Corps Community Centers and Social Service Sites can be contacted directly for a list of ongoing services.

SHELTERS

Salvation Army Shelters will remain fully operational. Safety plans have been established to meet the needs of each location. Arrangements have been made to separately house residents who are symptomatic and to implement social distancing where possible.

MIDTOWN SERVICE & TREATMENT CENTER

Treatment services will continue normal operations, though visitors will be restricted for the time being. Arrangements have been made to separately house in-patient clients who are symptomatic and to implement social distancing where possible.

VETERANS’ RESIDENCE

Housing services will continue normal operations, though visitors will be restricted for the time being. Safety plans have been enacted to ensure the well-being of transitional and permanent housing residents.

THRIFT STORES

To keep our neighbors, staff, and volunteers safe, and in accordance with city, state, and federal guidelines, our individual facilities are suspending many programs, such as after-school activities, open gym time, music lessons, and Bible studies.
